Harmonics 60–120
Prime factorization 22 × 3 × 5
Fifth 90/60 (701.955c)

The harmonic segment 60::120 (also harmonics 60–120) consists of harmonics 60 through 120 (60:61:…:120) and spans one octave above the root. Used as a scale, it is also called mode 60 of the harmonic series. Added to harmonics 59–118 are many 119/ ratios.

This is a highly composite scale, with many ways to form frequency-domain equal subset scales. Due to 60 being 2 x 2 × 3 × 5, this scale contains many low complexity 5-limit intervals directly above the root, including those with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 in the denominator.

Scales

This article or section contains multiple idiosyncratic terms. Such terms are used by only a few people and are not regularly used within the community.

Terms: Most of these names were coined, and are solely used, by Budjarn Lambeth - however he was only the first to name many of these scales, others have probably already used them before him

  • 60:66:72:80:90:99:108:120 Palace (approximated from Porky in 29edo)
