Prime factorization 23 × 7
Fifth 84/56 (701.955c)

56afdo (arithmetic frequency division of the octave), or 56odo (otonal division of the octave), divides the octave into thirty parts of 1/56 each. It is a superset of 55afdo and a subset of 57afdo. As a scale it may be known as mode 56 of the harmonic series or the Over-56 scale. Since 56 factors into primes as 2 × 3 × 5, this afdo contains many common 5-limit intervals above its root and is extremely useful for common tonal harmony.
