Pointlessly small MOS scales
There are pages for the 5- and 7-note MOSes, but they hardly contain 5- and 7-limit consonances besides 7/5 occuring once in the 7-note MOS. The 12-note MOS contains some simple ratios of 5, but even it lacks most ratios of 7. This issue is also present in cotoneum, where the 5-, 7-, and 12-note MOSes have pages with their respective scala files, but they all hardly contain anything past 3-limit, and a simple interval of 5 is first found in the 41-note MOS, and it's just 7/5. Properly utilizing prime 5 in cotoneum requires a MOS of at least 53, and hardly anything besides 2.3.7.11 is found in MOSes up to 41. The 2.3.7.11 restriction of cotoneum is gary, which should be considered seperately due to its higher accuracy and lower complexity. I believe it would be best to delete garibaldi MOS pages up to 7 notes, and cotoneum MOS pages up to 12 notes.--Overthink (talk) 20:12, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
I would personally also delete Cotoneum17 and possibly even Cotoneum29. Near-pythagorean temperament MOS scales with too few notes to contain much in higher limits are pointless, and one may as well just use pythagorean tuning instead, which has MOS pages up to 53. Also scales with more notes should be added, like Garibaldi29 and Garibaldi41. There are also temperaments like harry where smaller MOS scales need to be added, like Harry44 and possibly also Harry30. --Overthink (talk) 20:23, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
