Low-overtone JI (or low-complexity JI) is a term for JI that is based on a restricted set of low-complexity JI intervals (such as 3/2, 4/3, 5/4, 6/5, 7/4, 7/6, 9/8, 11/8, 13/8, 15/8), or favors overtone chords that have a power of 2 as the tonic. The opposite approach is primodality.
