This temperament is characterized by tempering out [[9/8]], and has been termed a "troll temperament".  It is named not only on account of 9/8 being tempered out, but also on account of being supported by EDOs that many people consider unusable- ostensibly due to them not having any good musical tone to work with.  Surprisingly, it has extensions all the way up to the 11-limit, as confirmed by the data from [http://x31eq.com/cgi-bin/rt.cgi?ets=2%2C+4&limit=11 x31eq].  The original 5-limit is basically the 3-limit music of [[2edo]] with the addition of harmonic 5 represented by an independent generator.

Welcome to the Temperament Orphanage

These temperaments need to be adopted into a family.

These are some temperaments that were found floating around. It is not clear what family they belong to, so for now they are in the temperament orphanage. Should you know how to match these temperaments back up with their temperament family, feel free to remove them from the orphanage and put them on the right page. If a temperament listed does not have a name, give it a name.

Please give a short description of whatever temperament you leave here so that someone can help to match this temperament back to its rightful progenitors.

Nulltone (2 & 4p)

This temperament is characterized by tempering out 9/8, and has been termed a "troll temperament". It is named not only on account of 9/8 being tempered out, but also on account of being supported by EDOs that many people consider unusable- ostensibly due to them not having any good musical tone to work with. Surprisingly, it has extensions all the way up to the 11-limit, as confirmed by the data from x31eq. The original 5-limit is basically the 3-limit music of 2edo with the addition of harmonic 5 represented by an independent generator.
