| Quasi-diatonic MOS notation (QDMN) is a JI-agnostic microtonal notation system for MOS scales with 4 or more notes developed by CompactStar. It is optimized specifically for backwards-compatibility with existing diatonic notation.

| The note name ABC... are used as the naturals for every MOS and repeat at the MOS's equave. A is fixed to 440 Hz and the mode starting on D is fixed to be the "middle" mode ceil((n-1)/2)|floor((n-1)/2) for n tones in UDP notation (for example this is 3|3 for 7 tones, 4|3 for 8 tones, and 4|4 for 9 tones).
