== Note and interval names ==
The note name ABC... are used as the naturals for every MOS and repeat at the MOS's [[equave]] (skipping I and V due to Roman numerals in chord names). A4 is fixed to 440 Hz, and the scale of naturals starting on B is fixed to the MOS's darkest mode.The accidentals #/b are set to raise and lower by the [[chroma]] (L-s).
 
A [[generic interval]] spanning k steps is referred to as a (k+1)th. In order to specify an interval, the qualities ''diminished'', ''minor'', ''perfect'', ''major'' and ''augmented'' are used. For the larger of the two generators (like the perfect fifth in diatonic), the large size of its generic interval is perfect and the small size of its generic interval is diminished. For the smaller of the two generators (like the perfect fourth in diatonic), the large size of its generic interval is augmented and the small size of its generic interval is perfect. For any other generic intervals, the large size is major and the small size is minor.

The staff has round(n/2+1) lines for an n-note scale. The naturals represent the lines and spaces of the staff with no accidentals.
