When was the term "magic temperament" coined and by whom? What is the story behind the name?

Graham came up with it, I think by analogy with miracle.

I may have seen it spelled "majic", making the connection with the major-third-size generator.

Nate's question is interesting, and so is the answer. I'd like to know more about who named what temperament and why. A lot of these wiki articles make it sound like all these ideas fell out of the sky, but in fact it was living, breathing humans doing creative number-crunching and tuning up keyboards.

I called it magic by analogy with miracle, as Gene said. But particularly from the Fleetwood Mac song "You Make Loving Fun" that happens to use the word "miracle" and that I happened to listen to at around that time.
I came up with the backronym "multiple approximations generated iteratively and consistently" also by analogy with miracle.
The business of major thirds -> majic is a coincidence. I was too dense to notice that.
