Disclaimer: Don't expect my opinions to be very informed, I am not a microtonal composer.

5edo: Very constrained, of course, but it can at least sound consonant, something very lacking in 2edo-4edo. Almost all combinations of notes sound satisfactory so it is ideal for "randomly-generated" music. The inframinor third is the only type of "third", so it is lacking in any sort of major tonality. Also the smallest EDO in which using a subset can be practical (only really the 1L 3s).
