The microorganisma (monzo: [-26 1 0 5 3⟩, ratio: 67110351/67108864), is an unnoticeable comma in the 11-limit (more precisely 2.3.7.11 subgroup) measuring about 0.0384 cents. It is an extremely small comma surfacing as the difference between a stack of three 77/64's and 49/48, and 16/9.
In terms of other commas, it is the difference between:
- an argyria and an olympia
- a gamelisma and an orgonisma
- 5 septischismas and 3 pythrabian commas
Temperaments
When tempered out, it equates the argyria and the olympia into one ~1.276 ¢ schismoid comma and makes the septischisma and pythrabian comma equal to three and five of these schismoids.
This comma is trivially tempered out in gary and no-5 superkleismic, and by extension, septischismic temperaments such as cassandra, newt, cotoneum or gariwizmic. It is also tempered out in very fine edos such as 2684, 5585, 8269, 8539, 16808.
If tempered alone in the 11-limit, it leads to rank-4 microorganismic, and if tempered out in the 2.3.7.11 subgroup, it leads to microorganic, an insanely accurate microtemperament
Etymology
This comma was named by Eufalesio in 2026. Its name comes from a pun on 'microorganism': micro-, orgone, gary, -isma.
