While I like the more concise phrasing in your version of the intro, you have changed the meaning there. Where the original version reads "new JI interpretations not in the original subgroup", your version reads "new JI interpretations for the new primes". Yours is incorrect as extensions don't necessarily involve new primes.

So my two cents: don't touch a topic until you fully understand it; don't try changing the wording and phrasing in an article unless there's a problem.
