Where to put historic quarter-comma meantone music?
Where should we put historic (pre-20th century) music, that was probably written for quarter-comma meantone? Should it get a new section, or should it go under Modern Renderings because (at least in many cases) we can't be sure? Examples:
- Magnificat primi toni BuxWv 203 (c. 1690; performed by Helena Holmlund, recorded 2013)
- Fantasia chromatica by Sweelinck, in meantone temperament (late 1500s – early 1600s; performed by Helena Holmlund, recorded 2013)
And am I doing the right thing with the date when I can't find the date of composition?
