The technical data page template adds a message in italics to inform readers that a page or section is a temperament gallery, belonging to either: Category:Temperament families, Category:Temperament clans or Category:Temperament collections.

The message box directs new readers to first read the beginner page "Technical data guide for regular temperaments" in order to understand how to use a temperament gallery.
