[[23edo|23EDO]] is an extremely ''weird'' tuning. It's closest approximation of 3/2 is extremely flat. It doesn't contain a [[5L 2s|diatonic 5L 2s scale]], and has a terrible approximation of every prime harmonic whilst also having remarkably many notes.
Because 23edo has two intervals that can pass as a fifth at 13\23 and 14\23, we've taken to analysing 23edo as a [[Dual-fifth system|dual fifth]] tuning.
23edo also doesn't have a strong scale from which to analyse it - If using the flat fifth to generate a scale and notate the tuning, you generate an [[2L 5s|antidiatonic 2L 5s]] scale, making it extremely difficult to parse using standard notation. If you use the sharp fifth as a generator the [[5L 3s|oneirotonic]] scale is generated.
Igliashon Jones also suggests using a dodecaphonic approach, using a 1L 11s scale that operates similar to a 12-edo.
23 doesn't have a clear dominant scale from which to structure our lens of harmony - There exist multiple competing structures that are all remarkably powerful in their own right. As such we've taken to developing tools for analyzing the qualia of chords and intervals divorced from the traditional approach.

Timbre is a very important focus when songwriting in 23edo. Timbres with inharmonic overtones, pitch bends etc
