Reading the information on pergen #Definition, I found it confusing that the Srutal temperament (2.3.5 and 2048/2025) does not match PAGENAME #Srutal (Subgroup 2.3.5.7) but rather PAGENAME #Srutal (12&34, aka diaschismic) (subgroup 2.3.5). Which one is right or what am I missing here? Thanks in advance for a clarification. --Xenwolf (talk) 14:35, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Na"Naa'
What does it even mean? Tbh it looks like a parsing error from Graham's temperament finder. FloraC (talk) 11:49, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
: I checked the file "names.py" from the sources (the zip file) for Graham's temperament finder and I couldn't find this name (not even just the "Naa" bit), and I couldn't find any temperament recorded in the 2.3.5.7.11.13.19.23 subgroup either. However, the sources date from 2011, so other temperaments and names might have been added to the website and the sources may be out of date. In any case, I don't know what the name means. As far as I'm concerned, given how chaotic temperament naming is, it's just as valid a story to justify this name as any other temperament name. :: He does actually log it: http://x31eq.com/cgi-bin/rt.cgi?ets=46%2C58&limit=2.3.5.7.11.13.17.23

::: I found the same, but how do we know it's actually displayed as intended? For all we know, it might be a bug with the software that causes the output to be garbled. If we had access to the version of names.py used on the live server, we could establish that for sure. Fredg999 (talk) 00:14, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
:::: The zip file is out of date, you can find it here: https://bitbucket.org/x31eq/regular/src/9bc9b5bd8c8e0ced6223b29c3ea487719d120c43/make_names.py#lines-787:790

::::: Thanks, that closes the issue of whether it's the actual name; it was indeed logged as Na"Naa. I'll bookmark that page for future reference, too. However, what it means remains a mystery. At least there's the name of the person who coined the name we can credit (Faras Almeer). Fredg999 (talk) 20:53, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
