The submerged comma is a large 5-limit comma which represents the difference between a stack of eleven 5/4's octave reduced and 4/3. Equivalently, it is the difference between a stack of ten 5/4's octave reduced and 16/15, or between a stack of twelve 5/4's octave reduced and 5/3.
Temperaments
Tempering out this comma in the 5-limit leads to the submerged temperament.
