Suggestions

I have suggestions to improve the sidebar. I wrote them down here to avoid cluttering this page: User:Fredg999/Sandbox#Sidebar revision. Since there are many proposed changes, I expect some people to object to some of the propositions, so I'd like to hear out any comments and objections on these. --Fredg999 (talk) 06:34, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Redirects in the sidebar

At the moment, several of the links in the sidebar are redirects. It would be good to change them so that they link directly to the target.

E.g. "Instruments" in the sidebar links to the page "Microtonal Instruments", which redirects to the page "Instruments". So this should be changed so that "Instruments" just links directly to the page "Instruments" instead of linking to a redirect.

It's only a minor problem, it doesn't impact functionality or navigation at all. It would just make the wiki feel a little more polished if pages linked from the main sidebar don't open with "Redirected from x".

While we're at it, it may also be good to remove unnecessary capitalisation in the sidebar, e.g. change "Advanced Search" to "Advanced search", General Theory" to "General theory", etc. --BudjarnLambeth (talk) 04:33, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
