The 61-limit consists of just intonation intervals whose ratios contain no prime factors higher than 61. It is the 18th prime limit and is a superset of the 59-limit and a subset of the 67-limit.

These things are contained by the 61-limit, but not the 59-limit:

  • The 61-, 63-, and 65-odd-limit;
  • Mode 31, 32 and 33 of the harmonic or subharmonic series; this means it completes the 6th octave of those series.
