Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius

Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius was a Roman saint, senator and polymath in the Early Middle Ages. He translated many of the Greek classics into Latin. In 1491, he published De institutione musica libri quinque, one of the most significant medieval texts on music theory.
