In 31-limit just intonation, 48/31 is either the tricesimoprimal inframinor sixth or tricesimoprimal semiaugmented fifth. It is flat of the Pythagorean minor sixth (128/81) by 248/243, and sharp of the perfect fifth (3/2) by 32/31. It can be used as a generator tuning for the sensi temperament, especially for the 5-limit sensipent temperament.

48/31 is very closely approximated by 41\65.
