:: I have proposed an alternative name for 256/255: "diasemitonisma". I disagree this comma renamed "charisma" (from ''char'', which means an 8-bit byte) for avoiding an extra confusion (already used for a temperament name of 13-limit 3def & 19). "Diasemitonisma" is a contraction of ''diatonic'', ''semitone'' and ''diaschisma'' into a single word, and also from ''dia-'' (diatonic or diaschismic) + ''semitonisma''. --[[User:Xenllium|Xenllium]] ([[User talk:Xenllium|talk]]) 12:14, 5 January 2024 (UTC) | :: I have proposed an alternative name for 256/255: "diasemitonisma". ::: I replied on the talk page, but in regards to the alternative name "diasemitonisma", it strikes me as a bit cumbersome to describe the 2.3.5.17[12&22] temperament as "diasemitonic semitonic". It's not a bad name per se but what's wrong with the name change proposal? Charisma and Charismic already need renaming anyways and there are two fairly obvious options that seem fine and clearly related for what to change them to. | |||
