I find that a horizontal line for separation (either as <code><nowiki>-------</nowiki></code> or as <code><nowiki><hr></nowiki></code>) is perhaps not the best option. We could also use typography to separate the source from the rest of the text, maybe (also) a subtle indentation? Here are the three options so far:
