This comma was named by Gene Ward Smith and Paul Erlich in 2002 as a mutant form for both quasi and crazy (as in kwazy wabbit!)[1]. Quasi was short for quasiseptima since an interval very close to 9/7 could be used as a generator for the corresponding temperament[2].
