Multiple senses
I don't see how the concept of generator has "multiple senses". That in MOSes (or any scales derived from regular temperaments) is an application of the math theory, and that in math is a theorization of the usage in scales. Separating them seems to make things harder.
Also I'm expecting a merge from Periods and generators or the other way around, or make these articles more disctinctly targeted. FloraC (talk) 08:03, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- It's because MOS generators are just one of two algebraic generators (period, generator) of a rank-2 temperament. Well, it's technically the generator of the rank-2 temperament mod period.
- That said, I'd have no problem with merging the MOS related content into Periods and generators. Inthar (talk) 09:58, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
