Place at the top of a "todo" category (subcategories of [[:Category:Todo]]) whose title follows the standard format "todo:''something''" (this standard format is important to make sure that the substring function that trims the first five characters works as intended).

The todocat template is designed to be used on maintenance (aka "todo") category pages. It marks the category as hidden, adds a notice for administrators, and attributes the correct sort key for alphabetical listing in Category:Todo.

Usage

Place at the top of a maintenance category (subcategories of Category:Todo). If the title follows the standard format "todo:something", then the sort key will be the page title without the "todo:" prefix; otherwise, the sort key will be the page title.
