A tetrad is a chord of four pitch classes. Some examples are major seventh, minor seventh, dominant seventh, diminished seventh, and augmented seventh chords. Some microtonal ones include harmonic seventh and neutral seventh chords.
There are lots of seventh chords, but tetrads can also be add chords, like major add 2, or major add 6.
