: Hi, i was looking for an article like this, but couldn't find it. That's why I made an account and created the page :) I can move the page to "Absolute errors of small EDOs" but it would be good to have searchable words like "Overtones", "Flageolet tones", "Harmonic series" so the next person will find it easier. Maybe both pages can be linked in Harmonic series or Overtone. Regarding the base notes, i agree that this is somewhat redundant, but it might be easier for entry level people like me to have all the transpositions. Space might become an issue with higher EDOs, but maybe I can generate a compact list like in the "Relative errors.." article in the beginning and a selection of popular EDOs with the transpositions. How does that sound? --Fabianvallon (talk) 13:37, 9 December 2023 (UTC) | : Hi, i was looking for an article like this, but couldn't find it. : After thinking a bit maybe simply moving it to "Absolute errors.." might be a bit misleading. My page is about the approximated notes(!) in the respective temperaments rather than the errors. The "Relative errors.." page does not list the approximated notes but only the errors. Not sure what a good approach would be. --Fabianvallon (talk) 14:12, 9 December 2023 (UTC) | |||
:: Imo those note names are very redundant in a page about errors. Error is determined by the interval, not pitch. That's why each row of the table is exactly identical. If you're looking for note names, the interval table in each edo page shows that. I'm also not sure about writing specifically about "popular edos" -- I think a list page like this should simply present all the data and let the reader decide what to make of it.
