Simplified UDP notation, or UD notation, denotes the kth brightest mode of any MOS aLbs as (a + b - k)|(k - 1), regardless of whether it is a single-period MOS or a multiperiod MOS. For example, the mode sLssLssLs of 3L6s is denoted 1|1, not 3|3(3). Therefore the simplified UDP notation is derivable from official UDP notation and vice versa.
