Daughter MOS scale names are derived from the parent MOS's soft version as '''m'''-''prefix'''''chromic''' (short for chromatic) and the hard version as '''p'''-''prefix'''''chromic'''.

Grand daughter MOS scale names are derived from the parent MOS's supersoft, semisoft, semihard and superhard generators and denoted with letters '''f'''-, '''m'''-, '''p'''- and '''s'''- respectively plus ''prefix'''''enharmonic'''. For example 6L 11s is called ''f-mechenharmonic'' because it's the grand daughter MOS of supersoft machinoid.

This is a proposed extension for the TAMNAMS MOS scale naming system. It's intended for a user interface so that every MOS pattern has a memorable name. The main table in the wiki can represent a curated list of good scales for newcomers and these are just a bonus.

(Grand) Daughter MOS naming system

Daughter MOS scale names are derived from the parent MOS's soft version as m-prefixchromic (short for chromatic) and the hard version as p-prefixchromic.

Grand daughter MOS scale names are derived from the grand parent MOS's supersoft, semisoft, semihard and superhard versions and denoted with letters f-, m-, p- and s- respectively plus prefixenharmic (short for enharmonic).
