Not only is it obscure, it's also wrong. "Thanos tuning" would literally be where a tuning has only half of the pitches at all (even if all pitch classes are available, only half of them in any given octave). "Thanos fretting" would be more appropriate, but it would only apply to every-other-fret and not other types of skip-frettings.
