Combined both systems described by Frostburn and me (Ganaram); organized existing sections into mos descendant naming, names for mosses by family, and individual names; Greek-ified wood names and extended up to 12; wasn't sure if "p-chro smitonic" was referring to a family or a single mos; stuff may be out-of-order or broken so feel free to edit if so

This is a systematic extension for the TAMNAMS MOS scale naming system based on parent / grandparent relationships. It's intended for a user interface so that every MOS pattern has a memorable name. There's also a more euphonic version at least for User:Frostburn's taste.
This is a systematic extension for the TAMNAMS MOS scale naming system based on relationships of a named mos (parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, etc). It's intended for a user interface so that every MOS pattern has a memorable name. There's also a more euphonic version at least for User:Frostburn's taste.

Diatonic family
Naming mos descendants
To name mosses that have more than 10 notes, names are based on how they're related to a parent mos and the step ratio relative to that parent. This section is currently work-in-progress and currently describes two systems devised by Frostburn and Ganaram inukshuk.

Trivial multi-MOS scales of k periods are named k-wood. If k is greater than 5 and no greater than 12, these can be written out, as shown in the table below.

Woods
Other mos names
Trivial multi-MOS scales of n periods are named n-wood or spelled out resulting in: hexawood, septawood, octawood, nonawood and decawood.

Daughter scales
Rest of the MOS scales up to 10 notes are treated similarly to diatonic using the shorthand chro for chromatic. If the parent scale of a basic MOS scale is hard the name is p-chro (parent's name) e.g. p-chro machinoid for 5L 6s (s-chro machinoid is an alternative). On the other hand if the parent scale of a basic MOS is soft the name is m-chro (parent's name) e.g. m-chro machinoid for 6L 5s (f-chro machinoid is an alternative).

Granddaughter scales
Granddaughters are analogues of m-enharmonic, f-enharmonic, p-enharmonic and s-enharmonic. The system's shorthand for enharmonic is enhar.

Great-granddaughter scales
Great-granddaughters derive names from the hardness of the great-grandparent scale e.g. minisoft becomes miso.

Hendecoid is a name given to 11L 2s by Eliora from Greek "eleven", referencing how "its generator is so close to 11/8 as to be called nothing but that", as well as the number of long steps, meaning that overall there's a very strong connection between the number 11 and the mos.

Quartismoid
Quartismoid is a name given to 22L 1s by Eliora, derived from the fact that five generators of roughly 33/32 quartertone are equal to 7/6 in the harmonic entropy minimum, and also that the extreme ranges of 22edo and 23edo both support this kind of scale.
