From my understanding of this article, thhese scales appear to be equal to ADO (arithmetic or otonal division of the octave) scales. Am I correct? If so, should we consider merging these articles? CompactStar (talk) 01:06, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
: They are rather different, in fact. ADO (aka harmonic series segment, aka overtone scale, aka lineal segment, etc.) describes a contiguous set of harmonics spanning an octave, while a Ringer scale would be a subset which satisfies the criteria mentioned in the article (constant structure, and representing the largest possible continuous sequence of harmonics). Merging the pages would not be beneficial in any way I can think of. --Fredg999 (talk) 03:21, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
: Okay. I did not know there were many such names for this type of tuning until now, although I suppose we should discuss that on the topic you put in Talk:ADO.

On the Carlos harmonic scale page, it says that scale is a ringer scale. If it is, should it be added to the list of ringer scales on this page?
