There exists a 5L 2s scale in 17ET which can sound similar to the 7 tone diatonic scale in 12ET, and can feel quite familiar on a guitar. With this in mind, improvising in 17ET can be fairly intuitive.
Use the same step sizes: L L s L L L s, where L is 3 tones (or 211.8 cents), and s is 1 tone (or 70.6 cents).
If you tune your guitar to the standard fourths tuning, it looks like this:
: · · · · : · · · · : e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | f | | | g | | | a | | | b | c | | | d | | | e | : · · · · : · · · · :
