| The note name ABC... are used as the naturals for every MOS and repeat at the MOS's [[equave]]. A is fixed to 440 Hz and the mode starting on D is fixed to be the "middle" mode, defined as ceil((n-1)/2)|floor((n-1)/2) for n tones in [[UDP notation]] (for example this is 2|2 for 5 tones, 3|2 for 6 tones, 3|3 for 7 tones, 4|3 for 8 tones, and 4|4 for 9 tones).
