He has been working at the Karlsruhe University of Music in Germany, the Anatolian University of Eskişehir in Turkey (as a lecturer), and the Ankara State Conservatory (in the rare position of a foreign expert in contemporary music). His Ph.D. thesis deals with the novel tuning system for the Middle Eastern qanun that was conceived by the French virtuoso and founder of the "Al-Kindi" Ensemble, Julien Jalâl Ed-Dine Weiss.
