Template:MOS intro

This template is used for mos pages to create a consistent and descriptive introduction.

This template should not be substituted.

This template is used on MOS scale pages to create a consistent and descriptive introduction.

Parameters

The following parameters are supported:

Parameters	Required	Description
Scale Signature	Yes (optional on mos pages)	The mos's scale signature in the form "xL ys", or for non-octave mosses, "xL ys<p/q>", "xL ys⟨p/q⟩", or "xL ys (p/q-equivalent)". If left blank and used on a mos page, then the page's title will be used.
Other Names	No (optional)	Any names that the mos has that isn't its scale signature. TAMNAMS names should not be entered here, as they are added by the template automatically based on the scale signature.

Usage

The typical use of this template is for the introduction of a mos's page.

Using a different scale signature

If desired, a different scale signature can be entered as shown below.

Adding mos names

Mosses that are named under TAMNAMS will have their names automatically included, with the exception of equave-agnostic TAMNAMS names. To specify other names, enter them as a semicolon-delimited list as shown below. It's recommended to use only the mos's most commonly used names.

Alternative names can be used in conjunction with TAMNAMS names.

Examples

The intro text displays information regarding the mos and its properties, such as whether it's proper (worded as "exhibiting Rothenberg propriety") and what related scale it descends from.
