For now I'm considering adding the Diaschisma in order to notate 25/24. And then we can actually get the schisma (32805/32768) through subtracting the diaschisma from the meantone comma. I also suspect I may need 45/44 to name 11/10 as a type of major rather than minor second, and 15/11 as a type of fourth rather than Aug 4, considering using F/f for fifth-tone-Wide/narrow, and mayyybe also using F/f to specify a 13-limit comma of similar size - 1701/1664, so it can be used to name 14/13 as a type of minor rather than major second and 13/7 as a type of major rather than minor seventh. At this stage we can get them by adding 81/64 or 64/63 to 33/32, but then it makes it hard for well-ordered names. However, I haven't found an edo or MOS scale I need these for yet. These prefixes have risk of inconsistency, wherein an edo in which both commas are needed may map them to a different number of degrees, or they may be edos in which the number of degrees approximating 9/8 is divisible by 5, but which ever of these commas is needed are not mapped to 1/5th the number of degrees of 9/8. --Lhearne (talk) 07:56, 6 February 2021 (UTC) |
