Proposal to reorganise some things

: I've removed it for now. There is an interesting interpretation in terms of quotient groups, but really it is a completely different interpretation from what we understand as tempering, even if it might (mathematically) look similar.

== Moving some stuff around ==
Currently "octave equivalence" is explained on the page [[2/1]], which is fine if a bit awkward if you want to link to "equivalence" when talking about e.g. tritaves and such. This page is specifically about non-octave equivalences, so it's not really a good idea to have "equivalence" redirect here.
The proposal is as follows: rename this page "interval of equivalence", so that "equivalence", "octave equivalence", and "equave" can all redirect here. Then move the octave equivalence section from the 2/1 page to here, so it becomes a page about equivalences in general. This means the term equave will get a bit less emphasis, which actually seems good to me since it is somewhat idiosyncratic still. It's not used outside of this wiki as far as I know, see for example Wikipedia's {{w|Bohlen–Pierce scale}}.

Return to "Interval of equivalence" page.
