This is actually backwards logic. subgroup temperaments are usually lower badness than 5-limit versions (like with 5-limit superpyth vs. 2.3.7 subgroup archy). Fractional octave and equivalence continua temperaments are not always high badness (diaschismic is one of the lowest 5-limit badnesses, in fact).
