Tempering out this comma in the full 41-limit results in the rank-12 kilobytismic temperament, or in the 2.5.41 subgroup, the rank-2 kilobytic temperament, generated by a very lightly tempered 5/4. Kilobytic is an incredibly efficient temperament on account of its low error combined with the very low complexity for the 5th and 41st harmonics (reached in +1 and -2 generators respectively).

Etymology

This comma was named by CompactStar in 2024. It refers to the kilobyte commonly being used as 2¹⁰ or 1024 bytes (there is a competing definition which uses it as 1000 bytes, but the corresponding comma 1001/1000 already has several names).
