Not to be confused with Template:Idiosyncratic.
Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]
This template should not be substituted.

The idiosyncratic terms template adds a message box to inform readers that a page or section has multiple idiosyncratic terms. It is meant as an alternative to having multiple instances of Template:Idiosyncratic within a body of text or in cases where the use of Template:Idiosyncratic is not feasible.

As with the original template, this template is not an indicator of the quality or usefulness of a term, but rather how widely used it is, and this template can be removed from pages if the terms described start being used regularly within the community.

Pages with this message box are placed in Category:Pages with idiosyncratic terms.

Usage

This template should be placed at the beginning of a page or section. The terms in question, or a description of the terms in question, should be entered as an unnamed parameter. Typing the code below, for example:

{{Idiosyncratic terms|Mode names proposed by ''example-person''}}

produces the following:

This article or section contains multiple idiosyncratic terms. Such terms are used by only a few people and are not regularly used within the community.

Terms: Mode names proposed by example-person
