This system can also be used to notate [[regular temperament]]s, including both [[equal temperament]]s and multirank temperaments. It should be noted that [[EDO]] systems will have many different temperament interpretations, and thus many different notations (for example, 24edo can be notated with the quarter-tone as J = [[64/63]],  L = [[33/32]], N = [[1053/10244]] and so on).

As with other JI notations, it is based on 3-limit notation with a set of accidentals corresponding to a formal comma for each prime limit. The letters H-Z are used for these accidentals, and alternate between ascending and descending, so H is 5-limit ascending, I is 5-limit descending, J is 7-limit ascending, K is 7-limit descending and so on. This notation bears similarity to FJS but it aims to be more easily typable.
