A flipped version of the [[5L 5s]] (5:2 step ratio) [[blackwood]] + [[whitewood]] mapping is possible. The octaves slope upwards with the rows (as expected for blackwood mappings), and the range is a bit under 5½ octaves with no missed notes and a moderate allocation of repeated notes to mitigate vertical wraparounds. [[Bryan Deister]] has used this mapping in [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8doWEgXMCY ''35edo improv''] (2026).

It is possible to use the [[blackwood]] + [[whitewood]] mappings of [[35edo]] as inspiration for mapping [[36edo]] as a lattice, using its factors of closest size to those of 35edo, which are 4 and 9, as in [[niner]] + [[Diminished_(temperament)|diminished]] temperaments, with a [[4L 4s]] scale of step ratio 5:4 running right and down. Similarly to blackwood and whitewood, the octaves slope upwards with the rows, but even so the mapping works to give 5 octaves with a decent allocation of repeated notes to mitigate vertical wraparounds, with no missed notes except for one missed note 35 in the top otherwise contiguous octave. [[Bryan Deister]] has used this mapping in [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KCtEYSkEK8U ''36edo improv''] (2026).

=== 43edo (demonstrated to work) ===

[[Bryan Deister]] has demonstrated a [[6th-octave_temperaments|6th-octave temperament]] mapping for [[90edo]], in [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LdxUD1taOqI ''90edo improv''] (2026). This temperament is similar to [6th-octave_temperaments#Spoob|spoob]], but spoob itself (which equates the werckismic tone ~[[55/49]] to 1/6 of an octave) will not actually work in 90 edo, which maps 55/49 inconsistently. ("Undevicesimal quasitonemic" is a placeholder name, pending approval of an official name for this 6th-octave temperament.) Instead, it equates the near-just quasi-tempered whole tone ~[[64/57]] (one key right, as 15\90) to 1/6 of an octave — the [[undevicesimal quasitonema]] (34359738368/34296447249, name proposed by [[User:Xenllium|Xenllium]]) is tempered out. The down-right generator 8\90 is a near-just large septendecimal semitone ~[[17/16]]; two of them (passing a 6th-octave boundary) make a sharp (and inconsistently-mapped) Pythagorean whole tone ~[[9/8]] (the semitonisma [[289/288]] is tempered out); three of them make a somewhat sharp classic minor third ~[[6/5]] (the archagallisma [[24576/24565]] is tempered out). The range is slightly short of five octaves (which slope upwards with the rows), with many missing notes, but this is an interesting mapping nonetheless, and could shine on a hypothetical XL-sized Lumatone having at least 465 keys in a span of five octaves.
It is possible to use a [[7L 2s]] (5:4 step ratio) superdiatonic mapping with [[43edo]], as in [[mavila]]. Mavila itself is not a high-accuracy tuning, but it has some relatives that are high-accuracy — in this case, [[amavil]], of the [[mabila family]]. As with mavila, it uses a sub-fifth as its generator, in this case 24\43; however, unlike actual mavila, the generator is explicitly defined as something other than the fifth, which is instead left at the most accurate mapping 43edo has to offer for ~[[3/2]] (at 25\43). Instead, the sub-fifth is mapped as a mildly flat undecimal diminished fifth ~[[22/15]]. After octave-reduction, three of them make a somewhat flat classic minor sixth ~[[8/5]]; four of them make a subminor third that functions as ~[[7/6]] (sharp), ~[[13/11]] (flat), and ~[[20/17]] (diatismic minor third, close to just, only slightly sharp); six of them make a near-just pentacircle major third ~[[14/11]]; seven of them make a near-just classic major seventh ~[[15/8]]; eight of them make a moderately flat undecimal major fourth ~[[11/8]]; and ten of them make the moderately flat perfect fifth ~[[3/2]]. The range is about 3¾ octaves, which slope mildly upwards, with a generous allotment of repeated notes to mitigate vertical wraparounds.

== Augmented (August) Lumatone mappings ==
=== 21edo (demonstrated to work) ===
It is possible to use [[21edo]] for some types of blues music, taking advantage of its highly accurate [[7/1|7th harmonic]], as demonstrated by [[Bryan Deister]] in [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S4C-m_Dcno ''21edo improv''] (2026). The mapping for this uses a sharp septimal minor third ~[[7/6]] as a generator with the octave divided in to three parts as a sharp classic major third ~[[5/4]], making this an [[augmented_(temperament)|augmented temperament]] mapping of the flat fifth ([[august]]) variety, with scales [[3L 3s]] proceeding right and down-right and [[8L 1s (4/1-equivalent)]] proceeding right, with both scales having a 5:2 step ratio. (The ⅓-octave complement of ~[[7/6]] is a mildly-flat septimal diatonic semitone ~[[15/14]], which is one key down-right, a convenient mapping for a diatonic semitone.) The range is about 6¾ octaves, and the octaves slope down considerably (incurring vertical wraparounds mitigated by repeated notes), while the double octaves slope upwards mildly.

== Hyperkleismic Lumatone mappings ==
=== 11edo (demonstrated to work) ===
[[Bryan Deister]] has used a [[3L 1s]] (3:2 step ratio) mapping for an unequal derivative of [[11edo]] that stacks sharp (by varying degrees) classic minor thirds to generate the scale (as in [[hyperkleismic]] temperament), in [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/K2QVvaRUXIQ ''<nowiki>[short clip] 11 Tone March</nowiki>''] (2023). In principle, this would also work for vanilla 11edo. (Due to the very large errors that 11edo has for most of its primes, getting the classic major thirds to map correctly as ~[[6/5]] requires use of the 2.9.15 subgroup or an extended version thereof, to constitute the minor thirds initially as 18/15.) The range is eight octaves, which slope very slightly upwards and have a generous number of repeated notes, thereby leaving open the possibility of splitting this layout into multiple manuals with only mild lopsidedness.

=== 52edo (demonstrated to work) ===
[[52edo]] is a valid [[porcupine]] tuning (with scale [[1L 6s]] having a 10:7 step ratio), as [[Bryan Deister]] demonstrates in [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YMjz4thpjxQ ''52edo jam''] (2026). The range with no missed notes is 4½ octaves, which slope upwards moderately.

=== 90edo (demonstrated to work) ===
[[Bryan Deister]] has demonstrated a [[6L 6s]] (8:7 step ratio) [[6th-octave_temperaments|6th-octave temperament]] mapping for [[90edo]], in [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LdxUD1taOqI ''<nowiki>Fantasy in 90edo [short clip]</nowiki>''] (2026). This temperament is similar to [[6th-octave_temperaments#Spoob|spoob]], but spoob itself (which equates the werckismic tone ~[[55/49]] to 1/6 of an octave) will not actually work in the [[patent val]] of 90edo, which maps 55/49 inconsistently. The range is slightly short of five octaves (which slope upwards with the rows), with many missing notes in each octave, but this is an interesting mapping nonetheless, and could shine on a hypothetical XL-sized Lumatone having at least 465 keys in a span of five octaves.
