'''Pseudo-Diatonic MOS Notation''' is a system for [[MOS scale|MOS scales]] developed by [[User:Agent 19|Agent 19]] while developing a 32-letter base 19 writing system due to boredom. The original specification requires the unique language, but it fits just as well into any other language, with some edge cases. It's supposed to be seen as Diatonic notation if it were more general, and developed by an alien species, sorta.

== Note Names ==
The root is A4, fixed to 440Hz by default.

Starting from B, the notes are labeled using the darkest mode of the MOS chosen, until reaching the A an equave up, as after that the nominals repeat.

I is skipped to avoid confusion, and V is skipped as well.

The accidentals are ♯ and ♭ for text, but unique symbols do exist; we'll get to that. They alter the pitch by a chroma (L-s), with sharp going up and flat going down, unless otherwise specified. Double sharps and flats work as expected, as they double the pitch alteration.

MODMOSes are notated using the MOS' base notation.

== Interval Names ==
Interval names are named almost identically to [[Quasi-diatonic MOS notation]]; interval size classes are named with ordinal numbers starting from the scale step as the 2nd (i.e. they are 1-indexed).

== Staves ==
The number of staff lines is equal to ceil(''n''/2+1), where ''n'' is the number of notes in the scale. This means a scale with 9 notes has 6 lines, and a scale with 13 notes has 8. A3 is always on a staff line.

The MOS name is always written at the top of the sheet music, then the step sizes, and if sharps and flats are flipped, an X is added to the end. For example, to notate harmonic notation in 23edo, you'd put 2L5s4:3X at the top of the score.
