Both were contractions of ''vicesimotertial augmented comma'', and so named for the comma which induces essentialy tempered triads 1-24/19-26/17 (with steps 24/19, 23/19, 17/13) and 1-23/19-26/17 (with steps 23/19, 24/19, 17/13), on account of their dissonance in comparison to the classical triads ([[4:5:6\|1-5/4-3/2]] and [[10:12:15\|1-6/5-3/2]]), undecimal augmented triads (1-9/7-11/7 and 1-11/9-11/7), septendecimal augmented triads (1-17/13-21/13 and 1-21/17-21/13) or undevicesimal augmented triads (1-5/4-19/12 and 1-19/15-19/12).
